Superficially Colorful Lacquer - IntensePolishTherapy Indie Interview (I.I.I)

IntensePolishTherapy Indie Interview (I.I.I)  #13

Questions are BOLD & the creators response will be in the regular font.

Today I will be interviewing Jin. from Superficially Colorful Lacquer. So if you're interested in finding out more about this creator, just keep reading!

Please tell me a bit yourself:
I can't reveal my age because then I would have to kill you of course, but I'm older than most people think ;-)
I'm an internet programmer by profession and I also studied some graphic design and graphic interface outside of work, but I try to use that a lot at work too.
I used to have a small business for restoration of old photos, and I think I did quite well in it! But it was way too much work so I couldn't keep up.
I'm from Israel, from a large town close to Tel Aviv. I always thought that I was a dog person, and in my parents house I grew up with two dogs but a little less than 10 years ago I picked two stray one month old kitties and with them I learned that I am definitely a cat person.

What is your nail polish brand name?

What inspired you to name your brand that?
It all started as a little blog about 2 years ago. I have always liked nail polish and anything polish and I have been playing with it for a very long time. Until another blogger convinced me that I could have my own blog. And so I decided to try it and dedicate a whole blog to my most superficial hobby - nail polish.

Frankening and playing with pigments and making my own little polish was something I have been doing all this time too, but only when I started the blog did I learn the term Frankening - and all about the indie polish brands. So my polish became a little better as I learned more, and I started gifting it to friends who slowly convinced me that my little polishes are good enough to be sold. And so my bloggie became my brand name.

What year did you start your brand?
I started selling my polishes in March 2014. But I started making them around March 2012.

Do you remember the name of the first polish you made &/or sold?
The very first polish that I made is called Summer Attire. It is a medium - light blue with different types of gold glitter in it. I made it at the beginning of 2012 but I never wrote down it's exact ingredients so I was never able to replicate it exactly again.
The first polish that I made and sold was Fascinated - a purple to blue thermal shimmer polish - still available in my shop.

Out of all the the polishes you've made, can you tell me your favourite 3?
It's hard to only pick 3. It's like asking a mother who's her favorite child... But I guess if I need to pick only three, they would be Fascinated - as my first 'real' born, Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey... Stuff - as the one who triggered a very special to my collection, and there's another one that is named Tequila Sunrise but it wasn't released yet and I am not yet sure exactly when it will come out - but it's one that I am extremely proud at!

What are your 3 top sellers of all times?
Giggly is number one and it is very far ahead of all the others.
Another two favorites are The Search Tempest and Meditative.

When making a polish, do you create with inspirations or just start adding by random.
I always have an idea in my mind before I start mixing. I cannot get anywhere at random...

Do you ship internationally?
Since I am international - of course I ship internationally! As a matter of fact, until today I have only shipped locally once  ;-))  And although international, thankfully the post office fees here are not expensive so my pricing is very reasonable (I think...) and I always ship in registered mail and signature required so it has a very low chance of getting lost!

Is there anything else you'd like my readers to know?
Well, if they actually read this long - they do deserve a little something for their trouble. So here's a coupon code I made especially for you:  intense-polish-therapy
It will give you and your readers 20% off your order order (no minimum)  and it is valid through December 30. One use per customer. And just a little hint maybe - at mid or end July I plan to release a new collection and the coupon is valid for that too ;-))

Also could you please link me your website as well as all of the social media sites you use.
