Festive Mani Recreated in Holo

Press Samples
I love recreating nail art from when I first started out!  It's so fun to see how much I can polish up the looks with my improved skills and upgraded tools! Today I chose a Christmas Eve mani I did the year I was introduced to nail art!

I've really been enjoying the items Victoria from Nailstuff.ca sent me recently, and really wanted to take the brushes for a good spin!  For this look I used both the detail brushes and the dotting tools now available for purchase at Nailstuff.ca.  For some reason, having my name on them makes me feel so professional when I use them!

When I looked at the original mani, I noticed that I did use glitter and shimmer polishes, but there was a decided lack of holo.  So what better to use to recreate it than a tree of Superchic Lacquer polishes!  Some might balk at the price ($18.49CAN), but when you take into consideration the quality, longevity and versatility of these Superholos, they are well worth the investment!

To start I chose the five colours I would use for the base, Wonderwall, No Rest For The Wicked, Realm of Erotica, Throwing Shade and Spill It.  Shown here is just one quick coat of each!

The Base

I decided to cheat just a teeny bit and stamp the shapes for the Snowman on my pinky, but everything else was done freehand.  I did go over the tree twice to adjust the shape and add some depth.

Then it was time for the details!  And man does the Micro Detail Brush make that so much easier!  Using the Awesome Sauce, Rudolph got ears and Antlers, a Realm of Erotica red nose, and using the Dotting Tool Trio for adorable eyes.

Santa got his belt and buttons(REM) and buckle. And a bonus cat hair... ugh. (But that is just what happens to just about every mani here thanks to my 4 senior kitties! #adoptdontshop)

The Christmas tree got a star and garland (Rum Billie and Wonderwall) and some ornaments (Realm of Erotica).

I finished them all off with a generous coat of Marvel Macro Topcoat and am pretty happy with the new and improved look!

The key to successful nail art, in my opinion, is pretty polish and reliable tools.  Nailstuff.ca has plenty of both to help you create!  Go show her some love and treat yourself at the same time!

Well it's officially December now... so there is no stopping this Christmas-aholic right here until 2019!!! Now if we could just get a little sunshine so I can enjoy the holo sparkle!  ~Kelly
