I reached out to the Born Pretty Store to ask to review some of their products a couple of months ago. I am fairly new to blogging and was excited to work with a nail brand that was so well known and popular. And who am I kidding...free nail supplies sounded awesome! Here is my honest review.
|Born Pretty Store|
First off, every person I interacted with at Born Pretty was awesome. They have excellent customer service and prompt response times for inquiries. That is always a big thing for me, you could have the greatest product in the world but if your customer service sucks, well count me out. Based in China, there can be a bit of a language barrier, no doubt in part due to some of the translation programs being used.
Secondly, they ask a lot of the reviewers in my opinion for $10 worth of products. Yes, they are offering these products for free on the premise that they will be reviewed and shared on social media. Brilliant really. My issue with that is that they want you to write a review for each separate item that you choose for that $10. Had I have paid closer attention to that I would have chosen just one item instead of trying to stretch that $10 as far as I could. I don't have time for 5-6 separate reviews, so for that I apologize to Born Pretty. I also deleted the original email with all of the expected parameters like specific hashtags etc, that will be missing from this review, my bad. I'll do my best to link the products throughout.
Born Pretty as I said, is a nail supply site based in China, where lets be honest, probably the majority of nail supplies are manufactured. This means that Born Pretty has amazing prices on all the supplies you can imagine! Stamping Plates, polishes, gel supplies, tools, stickers, decorations, and more, they have hundreds to choose from! I spent what seemed to be forever trying to choose the items I'd like because there is so much to see. I tried to choose a few different things, although as you can see I tend to gravitate towards stamping plates because you can never have too many images to choose from! You may spot that each of the first three plates I chose have a cat or cats on them. The fourth plate shows off Born Pretty's pretty new packaging. I included the prices in the caption because, I mean, LOOK at the prices!!

I created three manicures using these products. This first one using images on both of the Spring Garden plates.

They do now have a US Warehouse that if you click on the tab at the top of the shop page takes you directly to the items that are shipped from the States. That is great for the American shoppers, still not as great for those of us in Canada.
Overall, it was a good experience and I would hope to work with them again, but am aware that me not meeting their expectations may have hindered that possibility. I think the quality of the items is good and the prices are great, and I do plan on ordering for myself from time to time even though I prefer to support local indie makers whenever possible.
Thank you again to the Born Pretty Store for these handy nail art items, and for the great service. And if you haven't checked them out by now... GO! ~Kelly
