Hey everyone! I got some of the NYX Perfect Filter Shadow Palettes to give them a try for you. These were the first two NYX palettes I've ever purchased and you'll get my thoughts on them bellow.
|NYX Perfect Filter Shadow Palettes|
There are five Perfect Filter shadow palettes: Rustic Antique, Olive You, Marine Layer, Gloomy Days, and Golden Hour. I currently own two, Rustic Antique and Olive You, and they cost $24.00 each. These eye shadows do not swatch well at all, but they do look good on the eyes. It took me so long to get the swatches to look kind of good, and even then they didn't look as good from the swatches as most of the other palettes I own.

Once you get the shadows on your eyes it's a different story. Most of the shades in these palettes excluding one from the Olive You palette appear very pigmented when applied to the eyes. The matte shades blended very well and didn't require me to dip into the palette a few times to get the colour payoff I wanted. The shimmer shades were mostly good accept for one, but they went on very well over an eye shadow base and looked even better over the NYX glitter primer. There is also enough variety in each palette so that you can make a cohesive look without needing to reach for another palette.

I wore this eye shadow for around six hours and it held up quite well! I created this look using three shadows from the Rustic Antique shadow palette and it only took me ten minutes. The shadows blended out so well that it made putting on my makeup so much quicker while also still looking good. I wore it out on a hot, humid day and it didn't even budge! Sometimes with humidity I find that my eye shadow will crease, but this shadow wasn't impacted by that.

All in all, I really love the NYX Perfect Filter Shadow Palettes! I especially like the Rustic Antique, but Olive You also performed really well. Something that sucks about these palettes is the price considering they can be purchased at the drugstore. Something you can do if you have a Shoppers Drugmart that carries NYX is use PC Optimum points (points accumulated at most PC stores) to make it cost less for you. I went and bought these during a spend your points event and made back $30 worth of points! Either way, these palettes are very good, and if you want to splurge at the drugstore, these would be the first palettes I would recommend!
I'll see you next time~Ariel
