Essence Metal Shock Eyshadow | Review time!

Hey everyone! I’m here to review the Essence metal shock eyeshadows and give you my honest thoughts.
Essence Metal Shock Eyeshadow
I currently own five different shades: moon dust, 1 second to mars, stars & stories, supernova, and total eclipse. The swatches bellow are in that order from top to bottom.

They have a creamy consistency that is common for liquid eyeshadows, and they feel cool on your eyes until they dry down. The dry down doesn’t take too long, but you want to make sure you have your eyes closed or looking down while it dries because the product will crease if you don't.

So, based off swatches, these liquid eyeshadows appear really pigmented! The shade 1 second to mars left a slight stain on my arm, but I’ve used it on my eyes over an eyeshadow base set with some light powder and it didn’t stain my eyes. I have very sensitive eyes and I haven’t had problems with any shade, so I would say that these are suitable for most people (please do a patch test if you're worried it might cause you any irritation).

I apply the Essence eyeshadow with the doe foot applicator it comes with because I can get a clean line that way, and I wipe off the excess to get an even layer on the eyes. It layers over other powder eyeshadows well and didn't mix with the colour I used under it. For this look I used '1 second to mars' layered over a few shadows from the ABH Soft Glam palette.

From 9:00am to 8:00pm the eyeshadow held up very well. It did become a little more dull as the day went on, but it wasn't a very noticeable difference. I have hooded lids so I can typically get some creasing by the end of the day, but the Essence metal shock eyeshadows haven’t creased on me yet. I’ve worn them many times to work and I’m there 8 hours at a time so I need makeup that lasts all day long!

Overall, I really like these liquid eyeshadows and they performed really well! I mostly use 'stars & stories' and '1 second to mars' because I prefer using brighter liquid eyeshadows, but they have never creased or left any fallout over my face throughout the day. Considering these are less than $5.00, they are a very good place to start when it comes to liquid eyeshadow. I would highly recommend!

I'll see you next time! Ariel~
